Inventory and Cataloging of the Parchment Collection "Instrumenta Antiqua Fulginii".

On April 26, thanks to an agreement with La Sapienza University of Rome, work began on the inventory and first cataloguing of the "Instrumenta Antiqua Fulginii" collection of parchments. This collection, kept in the General Archives of the Order of St. Augustine, comprises 303 documents dating from 1222 to 1425.

Parchment Fund Details

The collection, from Foligno in the Umbrian region, has been restored, digitized and is now ready for inventory and cataloguing. This process involves recognizing, inventorying and describing each document in a summary or regestum, providing essential data on the subject matter, chronological and topographical dating, and the notaries involved.

Importance of the Project

The purpose of this work is to enhance and make this valuable documentary collection accessible to researchers and friars of the Order of Saint Augustine. The detailed cataloguing will allow easier and more efficient access to this part of the documentary patrimony preserved in the Augustinian General Archive.
