Publications of the Augustinian General Archive
The Augustinian Historical Institute, since 1969, has been engaged in the gradual publication of some sources for the history of the Order of Saint Augustine. In close collaboration with the Augustinian General Archives, the Institute has been able to bring to light publications from various sources preserved in the AGA:
Bulario: Relation of the bulls concerning the Order in the form of a regesto or synthesis of their content, in a series of 10 volumes, which include the bulls from the year 1256 to 1774. It is an essential documentation for the history of the Order of Saint Augustine, considering the close relationship that the Order has with the Holy See for being a mendicant order.
Records of the Generals: These are the codices or volumes that contain, in an extensive or summarized form, the records of the documents issued by the Priors General of the Order in the performance of their office of government. Up to now some volumes of registers have been published corresponding to the Priors General Gregory of Rimini, Bartholomew of Venice, Julian of Salem, Egidius of Viterbo, Hieronymus Seripando, Christopher of Padua, Gabriel of Venice, Christopher of Padua, Thaddeus of Perugia, Matthew of Ascoli.
The aforementioned publications are available for researchers to consult in the AGA reading room. To request a copy or make a purchase, please contact the Archive via email at: archiviogen@osacuria.org
Publication of images of documents held at the AGA
In order to protect the copyrights of the documents kept at the AGA, the Archive's management authorizes a user to publish images of the items kept in its collection of documents.
Images will be sent within two to three weeks after the form is submitted.
If you have any questions regarding the compilation of the form, please contact the Archive via e-mail.
Please note before submitting the following form:
- Send an e-mail to archiviogen@osacuria.org to obtain from the personnel in charge, the topographic signature of the material to be digitized in order to be published and the respective budget.

- The Archive Secretariat will send the images without watermark once the form has been received.
